Missing Oregon woman found alive in Big Sur



BIG SUR — An Oregon woman missing since July 6 was found alive Friday night in Big Sur, authorities said.

Angela Hernandez, 23, of Portland, was traveling from her hometown to visit family in Southern California and was in Half Moon Bay when her family last heard from her.

Hernandez was last heard from in Half Moon Bay.

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office searched for Hernandez but handed the investigation off to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday after surveillance video surfaced confirming she had traveled south on Highway 1 into Monterey County.

Authorities found Hernandez while responding to a report of a white Jeep over a cliff on Highway 1.

According to an unconfirmed report, Hernandez told authorities she had been stuck in the location since July 6.
